A Day of Dodging Potholes & Exploring in the Ghetto

Three different locations we hit up a few weeks back. No spectacular places here. But I did end up with a few good shots and hitting up three spots in one afternoon is what I would consider a success.

The first was a hair tonic factory that has been closed for over 25 years. It's been wide open for years and it shows. Not much left to see, the view from the roof was decent at least. Then we went to a small church soon to be demolished. We found a crackheads "burner" phone at this place which was good for a laugh.
We ended up the day at the outlying buildings of the central terminal. Not much left here either, but the sun setting made for a few good shots.

If I were you
I'd dare not speak
I'd run like hell
In hopes of seeing tomorrow:

Window Shopping:

I breathe you in
And in a flood of light
I know I was never lost:

Gloomy Rooftopping:

Crackhead Church:

Walking the Red Carpet:

When we were young the future was so bright
The old neighborhood was so alive:

Ode to the underground artist:

Gonna take a freight train
Down at the station, Lord
I don't care where it goes:

Termonal Attraction:

An inspiration is what you are to me:

I can see lights in the distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night:

Life Prevails:

My friends Jeep she just got. Our exploring limo for the day. It took the pothole riddled roads of the city like a champ:

I don't have the balls to go explore and poke around in abandoned places in the ghetto part of my town lol, but im sure there would be great locations. Great photos!

hair tonic factory

Nice work. I thought that the "friends of..." had sealed this place up. Apparently not.

The church was neat, although fairly small. We did not hang around two long because the school was letting out across the street and a few people saw us inside. Bad timing on our part. The place smelled like piss anyway lol.

Thanks man! That open window was where we were spotted by people across the street haha.

Thanks!! It was a productive day. Not the most interesting of locations, but all the better locations we scoped out that day were sealed up tight.

Thank you for your kind words as always! The hallway shot was at our last location of the day. We got there just as the sun was starting to set, which made for some excellent lighting. It was a nice low key place to mess around with my new camera, which is what I used for all but one or two of these shots.

We have never had any issues with exploring in the more ghetto areas. It's generally a group of three of us and no one has ever bothered us. The nice part is that in those areas the odds of neighbors calling the police cuz they see a few people walk into a abandoned building is pretty slim.

If they did it was a piss poor job. This place is so trashed at this point I don't really see any reason to seal it up anyway.
